Ye Can Take my Teeth, But Ye'll Never Take My Wisdom!!

Well, today is the day I've been kind of squirming over, but down here at Tooth Removal Ground Zero, things are much calmer than I expected them to be. Naturally, I've not really been looking forward to this whole procedure. It involves needles, sedation, public places, strange men, bad-smelling gas, and lots of other things that I moderately dislike. I mean, when you think of being strapped into a chair and having teeth removed from beneath your gumline using crude, sharp tools, you usually don't get a warm feeling inside--that is, unless you pee yourself.

Despite the quailing nature of the situation, however, I'm not really worried at all. Nope. My entire perspective has turned around! In fact, I'm actually kind of looking forward to this. And here, my friends, is why:

Okay, so maybe it's not so inviting to have some dude jabbing pointy things in your arms and stealing your teeth, but after the nightmare is over, you're ridin' the gravy train: I'll have to stay in bed and be waited on hand-and-foot while I play video games because if you get up and do anything, your clotting mechanism might screw up. And...

I must be antirely sustained on foods that are soft and delicious! This opens the doors to all kinds of wonderful things: We went to the store yesteday, and my mom was like "Pick out anything you think you'll want to eat." Awwww yeah, babe. We got pudding, with caramel and vanilla, custard-style yogurt (key-lime flavored!), apple pie, three gallons of icecream (cherry-vanilla, cookies-and-cream, and just plain pie-eatin' vanilla), four or five cans of refried beans (I'm all about the beans, in case you haven't noticed. Beans rock.), several kinds of juice (expensive welch's grape stuff we usually don't buy cuz we're cheap and ghetto), and a few different kinds of soup. Soup is definately good. Plus, I have to eat a bunch of stuff high in protein to aid the healing process, so I finally get to try those Boost drinks that are yummy, but normally only for old people (heh heh heh). Protein isn't as big a deal as soft and delicious, but I've been meaning to eat more protein anyway.

On top of that, I'll really get to relax. I might be a little bored, but I'm basically supposed to stay in bed or do easy-going stuff like play video games and watch movies. Kouji's off work for the next few days, so we might actually be able to hang out some. I mean, we usually find time to hang out and do stuff here and there, but that's in and around our busy scheduals and whatever our families have us preoccupied with. It's a nice excuse to kick back for a while.

The downside is, I'm still not quite sure what they're planning to do to me, and I'm REALLY hungry, especially after going on and on about all that good food. I'm not allowed to eat anything six hours prior to surgery, so I had to wake up at six this morning if I wanted anything to eat today. I was much like a zombie at that time, shuffling, groaning incoherently, and smelling of rotting flesh, so I poured myself a bowl of Wheaties, ate as much as I could, then stumbled back to bed. Now I'm just starving, but I'll get in trouble if I eat anything...and despite the prospect of all that yummy food, you aren't allowed to eat anything within six hours after the operation either. *sigh* At that point, I guess I'm just expected to sleep. *rolls eyes* Last time I had teeth pulled, it was unpleasent, but I didn't sleep afterward, and I was eating as soon as possible. (I always find some way to eat and avoid sleep). Lately food and I have become fast friends. I don't really eat that much, but I like food. I like the prospect of making it, eating it, or even just looking at it. The eating itself isn't that glamorous, but I've sat for hours on end just watching the Food Network. That and G4. I guess that's all I have to say about that...Kouji gets off work sometime bewteen now and 13:00, so I'll just have to keep myself busy till then. I really wish I could eat or drink something...>_<` But I'll keep ya posted on what promises to be the most interesting thing I do this week.
