Summer So Far...
It's now been about three weeks since I had to go to school. And while I figure I've probably accomplished about four days worth of anything, being away from school is too wonderful to complain about.

Period. I mean, this is awesome! I wake up without having to look forward to dealing with 2700 screaming people, whatever guilt comes with my distaste toward them, and without having to haul that dreadful sack of obligations. Or my 60-pound backpack.

Ah...

I still haven't had a chance to go swimming...*in an evil impish voice* But oh well! I didn't have a swimsuit. And now I do, so there! Nyeh! *sticks out tongue*

Also, all this extra time has given me a chance to put off all the stuff I thought about doing when I got time, and instead go hang out with Kouji ;p

That stuff...Heh, yeah I don't feel an ounce of regret there. Mostly since I never did that intenionally or anything, but I had some kind of computer work I think I was planning on finishing. Not really important work, so it's subject to procrastination:

Finish typing up The Planner

Scan some photos (which I think I lost...)

Burn some CDs

....Is that all? I think I might've wanted to color a picture or something, but then...I did that already. And I've wanted to burn some CDs for about a year and a half now...the CD burner busted right after we did the NBC soundtrack.

Then are the times when I'm just stuck at home...rotting. Rotting like expired mayonaise. Doing abso-bloody-lutely nothing expect sitting for extended periods of time, trying to find something to do, eating more than I should with nothing to do...feeling, as Tk put it (proudly tho) "slobular".

I have seen quite a few interesting movies, and some that weren't quite so amazing. But I like movies, so I'll tell you about them:

"Run Lola Run" An interesting German film with a red-headed chick, who, obviously, does quite a bit of running. She's trying to come up with a huge pile of money and get it to her boyfriend who owes it to someone mean and powerful. The movie seems kind of drab until about a third of the way through, but the music is good the whole way.

"Paycheck" Unlike I had originally thought, this movie did not have Jim Carrey in it...But it was pretty neat. It's the one where that guy does that secret work, then erases his memory and goes back looking to clues for what he forgot because he was supposed to get paid all this cash, but when he wakes up from erasing his memory, he gave up the money for some reason. You know what I mean, right?

"The Last Samurai" Hrmm...this had a funny little Japanese boy in it in one part. Tom Cruise is a grouchy soldier who goes to Japan to work for the corrupt Japanese emporer who wants to get rid of all the old ways and do everything Western-style--which means fighting the Samurai who want to keep their honor and dignity. Then Tom Cruise decides he likes the dignity idea better and he fights with the Samurai. There's one part where this guy beats the tar out of him with a bokken ^_^

"Steel Angel Kurumi" Not really a movie, but we watched a bit of the second season, so it was nice to know what was going on in the first one. The FIRST season is the one without the weird lesbian thing going on...There's a boy that activates Kurumi, he just acts like a girl.

Kurumi is a really cute and funny series, and we like it ^_~

Just a moment, my dryer went off...

Anyway, since I can't remember the less recent ones, "Stepford Wives" This one had an entertaining gay guy in it, but other than that...*shakes head* No. It was a satire though, which made things something like interesting, and it did have a point or a moral...I think.

"Troy" Which we saw before the wives one, on the day we were looking for swimsuits, and which I almost missed because I left my hoodie in a dressing room at Foley's and I had to run clear to the other end of the mall and back to get it. So I hobbled back to the theatre, panting, gagging, and sweating, BUT WITH MY HOODIE! Yay! Troy was really dramatic and serious, and the dialogue made it seems pretty good, but honestly the whole plot was pretty silly to me. A lot of unecessary complications. But then...it was a good three hours of rest and not-walking-through-the-mall. Heehee, Orlando Bloom plays the pansy who starts the war and ruins everyone's lives.

Lil Doodoo, Kouji, and I went and saw "Van Helsing" Which was a pretty entertaining monster movie. Mostly considering it had just about every monster imaginable in it! Very Halloweenie and cool. We all liked the part where Dracula's babies exploded. ^_^

"Matchstick Men" Nicholas Cage looked a bit spooky in this movie...It also starred what I assume must now be a very famous carpet, which we couldn't help but joke about all through the film ^_^ Just remember if you haven't seen it: It's about con-men.

"Mystic River" I slept through this one. It wasn't very good though, from what I hear. A lot of cursing and killing went on. Kouji said it would've made a better book than a movie.

I've probably also had a few little adventures this summer. For about a week and a half it rained every night and there were tornado warnings. I probably told you guys, or somebody, that I made Wizard of Oz jokes and said things like "It's a twister! It's a twister!" and screamed, "DOOOOROTHY!"

just to be annoying.

I also told stories about a little corpse boy names Crypty, who ran out of popsicles and hot water so he had to take a cold shower, but his mouth was still all hot and unable to taste the icey sweetness of the popsicle.

The storms got old pretty fast tho...especially since my mom kept all the lights on as long as we had power, and when we didn't it was all humid and sticky in the house.

We lost power at my dad's for...about two days though.

The golf courses all flooded though, and we noticed that the old people are still trying to play golf on them.

Turns out that "Devon" was calling to make sure my mom was still going to drive down to Canton (a middle-of-nowhere-town in Texas know for its flea markets, and probably also for its fleas. Yup, if you're a flea and you say, "But I'm from Canton, Texas," they'll know right away what kind of hicks you been bitin'. You been in the 'hood. You a CANTON flea, purest of the pure, tiniest of the tiny, bloodiest of the bloody, brownest of the brown, able to hop 5 ft in a single...anyway) And so, we (Mom, Little Doodoo, Kouji and I) all drove down there, hoping to win whatever prize we got. Everyone was guaranteed one and the food was free. Don't look at me, I wasn't the one planning these excursions. Devon called for DENA, not SPOO. We listened to CDs, Kouji worked on his katar (a weapon he had hoped to use at Amptguard, which I'll explain), and I ate Chicken in a Biscuit and watched Kouji work in the katar.

Which was actually, I thought, pretty interesting, considering he was trying to sew in the car and it was still turning out cool.

We got there and ate chili pie and tried to blow a styrofoam cup back and forth at each other, across a small table, using coffee straws, and then we went in another building and made origami things out of the forms they had sitting out. A big wasp was outside looming. On the way back, Kouji couldn't do as much work, because my mom made him drive. But I don't think he minded much, especially when it started raining so hard we could barely see where we were going. ^_^ Before the rain got bad, we listened to Weird Al.

Then we ate at this Texan Steak And Cow place where they let you throw peanut shells on the floor, EVEN IF YOU BROUGHT THE PEANUTS FROM HOME! Prolly. We didn't bring our own peanuts. The food was good, but then they started playing this weird music and I had to run outside to escape.

The end of that, because we eventually got home. I think we watched a movie that night too, but I don't remember which one because I am STOOPID.

Anyway: Amptguard, near as I can tell, is where you make a foam weapon and fight others according to a long list of irritating rules. And everything you wear is supposed to be period (1650's) as is your weapon. I make it sound a bit bad, but it was actually quite fun. I think. I didn't do any sweating or scuffling, but it looked like they were having fun ^_^ However, a katar didn't really fit with the rules or something...For one thing, it's more of an Indian weapon. A real one is like having a blade coming off the back of your hand. This one was more like having three blades come off the back of your hand, Wolverine style. A cool idea though, right? Well...there was a lot of "or something" going on...The was "something" about padding, and "something" about period, and "something" later about the piping involved being too flexible (which sounded to me like "that's too safe")...So, cool as it was, there wasn't any legal ditching or fighting allowed for the katar. And that sucked. So I sat and comforted it, while talking with people and clipping chainmaille rings. Kouji managed to do pretty good without any weapons at all, though he could only really spar with Greg and Brandon, who used the staff. 'Twas very cool to watch. Gypsy, Chantelle's canine friend, came a long as well, and was very friendly.

Amptguard was, all in all, a lot of fun, except for that one guy who's mouth kept spouting...things....

I got my hair redone yesterday; it is now blonder, and a lot redder. We ate at Atlanta Bread Company, which was tastey, and then we went to Star-Ching.

While I was been saturated with chemicals, we watched Underworld, which had neat costumes in it, and a while later, after myh air was finished, we ate Pei Wei and Terminator came on. Little Doodoo was there also. And so was Juli-Booly, our ex-chihuahua. By that I mean, he used to belong to us, not that he's dead or anything. He's on Doggie Prozac, but he's still alive.

So now I have swim wear, my hair is re-awesome-o-fied, and my aunt wants to get my nails done, which I always do in the summer anyway. Black usually, to protect them from the sun.

I am beginning to feel grimey though...and I need to put sheets on my bed because the other night my dad and aunt met a soldier guy who had just come back from Iraq, and he was going to Scarborough, planning to sleep in his car the night before. So my dad let him stay at our house and he slept in my bed. The sheets got washed and now I need to put them back on my bed so I can sleep there and not on the couch.

The soldier, Thomas, was very cool, apparently though. He had an authentic sword, folded seven times, some authentic gear, and a bunch of chainmaille, including a coif, which my dad helped him clean with Mag Cleaner.

And I had taken off the bracer Kouji had made in order to sleep better during the last day of school, so it was still at my dad's. Thomas thought it was really well-made and very cool. ^_^

Now, children it is time for me to go get cleaned up in case I use today for something (yeah right). ^_^
