20:00 - 2005-08-01 Friday I found myself wide awake and energized at the wonderful hour of four AM. Though I rarely get to enjoy it, four is prolly my favorite time of day, on account of the fact that at that time, everything is always going my way: I am either asleep, as I should be, or I am awake because I choose to be, and the rest of the world is quiet and dark. Also, it's about the only time you can play online games without lag. But that's not what I did, because I've become addicted to Final Fantasy VII, and I desperately needed to BREED MORE CHOCOBOS. It's funny how my life has changed since Kouji introduced me to Final Fantasy...I can't count the times I've found myself humming "J-E-N-O-V-A", or wishing I could just go kill something to earn money... Anyway, the next wonderful day was my and Kouji's anniversary. (Sue me if I mispelled that, this is only my second one!) I guess we aren't like normal people, because we didn't do anything particularly fancy (although we did eat at IHOP at ten pm...) I can't say I've been so relaxed and happy in a long time, though. There's nothing better to me, I suppose: being able to devote my full attention to the person who matters most to me, and having nothing else to worry about... But it didn't stop there! See, I'd been watching Hellsing for some time, and finally reached the finale! Not quite as sentamental, but still extremely AWESOME! If you don't already know, Hellsing is more or less about an organization that hunts and kills vampires in the interest of protecting mankind (mainly, Britain). So it's about vampires, and it's definately dark, but not in an overly-stylistic angsty way. In a GOOD way ^_^ The lead character, Alucard, is kind of like the complete opposite of Vash from Trigun, but equally great. The female lead, Seras, Alucard's apprentice-of-sorts, is probably the most dynamic female anime character I've seen. I watched the entire series again at least three times, I'm sure, just so it didn't have to end. The original voices were better, but subtitle translations were incredibly literal and completely devoid of context...so the second time, I opted for the dub...which contained way more cursing than I needed...Sigh, oh well. At least the voice actors were pretty good ^_^ Oh! and that night: I beat Final Fantasy VII! YES! It was so cool! And, of course, you know what that means: time to max out all my characters ^_^ Which is what I've been up to for the past few days. Now I REALLY can't wait to see Advent Children. We're cosplaying, ya know ^_^V Which brings me to an interesting realization I had, after witnessing both Hellsing and FFVII:
A more-than-slightly effeminate guy, a very manly lady, both premature greys...Am I the only one sensing an odd coincedence here? It's very creepy... Okay, so maybe they aren't brother and sister, but they certainly look like cousins at least...I guess, beneath the surface they aren't so similar though...Integra Hellsing: a tight-wadded, vampire-slaying control freak, the picture of dignity and strength--Sephiroth: a spooky-looking psychopath, causing meteor showers, killing off endangered species, and constantly unleashing his mother on his foes...yeah... Still, Integra's uncle was pretty crazy...and Sephiroth can never be totally sure of his past...Maybe it's a completely ridiculous concept. Maybe I just like fooling around with photoshop. But then again...maybe not.
